Congressman Kim Honors American Legion on 100^th Anniversary

WASHINGTON, DC – The following is a statement from Congressman Andy Kim (NJ-03) honoring the American Legion on its 100^th anniversary.

“The American Legion represents the best of America. It is a cornerstone of our communities because its members have fought to make the freedom and prosperity that define our communities possible. I am proud to have thousands of American Legion members as my neighbors in New Jersey and to celebrate this monumental anniversary with them.”

New Jersey’s 3^rd Congressional District is home to more than 53,000 veterans according to the Veterans Administration. Congressman Kim is a co-sponsor of H.R. 1641, the LEGION Act, which amends the American Legion’s Congressional charter to determine its own veteran membership eligibility.
