Congressman MacArthur’s Statement on the Passage of the Bipartisan 2018 Defense Appropriations Bill

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Tom MacArthur released the following statement after the 2018 Defense Appropriations Act passed the House, which includes funding for the first wave of KC-46 tankers at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst:
I’m pleased that funding for the first wave of KC-46 tankers for Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst is included in this legislation. This funding will protect our national defense, ensure Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst remains our nation’s premier air mobility installation, and saves thousands of jobs in New Jersey.

Additionally, this legislation fully funds a much needed pay raise for our troops and supports programs that will stop the flow of deadly drugs into our communities.

Protecting our country should never be a partisan issue and I’m grateful my House colleagues from both parties were able to support this legislation and have voted three times to fund our military.  Now, it’s up to the Senate to do their job, stop playing politics, and vote to protect our country and support our troops.
