Congresswoman Mikie Sherrill Attends Local Pastors and Clergy Meeting Hosted by Bishop Andre Speight and H.E.L.P.

Congresswoman Mikie Sherrill recently joined over 60 faith-based leaders for a dynamic and impactful session hosted by Bishop Andre Speight and the newly formed H.E.L.P. — Helping Every Local Pastor. The initiative is focused on uplifting and empowering local houses of worship and the pastors who lead them.
This gathering of clergy and community leaders highlighted the growing importance of faith-based engagement in civic and community life. The mission of H.E.L.P. is to provide support, resources, and advocacy for pastors across the region.
Special guest speakers for the session included Essex County Sheriff Amir Jones and Bishop Assemblyman Reginald Atkins. Sheriff Jones spoke powerfully about the importance of building stronger community relations through his leadership and emphasized his commitment to supporting Essex County’s faith-based communities with meaningful resources. Assemblyman Atkins, who also served as the keynote speaker, delivered a stirring message on the role of leadership, faith, and unity in shaping the future of New Jersey.
