COUNCILMEMBER JAMES SOLOMON ENDORSED BY ANTI-CORRUPTION WATCHDOG GROUP AHEAD OF MAYORAL ELECTION

JERSEY CITY, NJ — Today, Councilmember James Solomon was endorsed by Laboratories of Democracy, a national watchdog group fighting for a representative democracy free from corruption. The endorsement underscores Solomon’s commitment to good government and transparency as Mayor, and further positions him as the anti-corruption candidate in the race.

"I'm honored to receive the endorsement from Laboratories of Democracy, a new national organization dedicated to electing true public servants - not machine cronies and party bosses," said Councilmember Solomon. "I got my start in Jersey politics by standing firm against the corrupt county line ballot system, which gerrymandered our ballots to keep corrupt, entrenched special interests from both parties in power. Now, the county line is dead, and I'm running for Mayor to deliver a government that truly works for us, the people -- not the powerful."

For two terms, Councilmember James Solomon has been a tireless champion for working families across Jersey City, holding developers accountable for the city’s affordable housing crisis while standing tall against the corrupt special interests holding our city’s politics hostage. Now, he’s running for Mayor to deliver real affordable housing, more mass transit, and a city that works for the people, not the powerful. In other words, he’s still not for sale.
