Hoboken, NJ – Yesterday, Emily Jabbour for Mayor released their first ad for the 2025 Hoboken Mayoral election. This ad is part of an aggressive buy across digital platforms, and highlights Jabbour’s story of getting involved and commitment to reducing gun violence. In the ad, Emily shares that after witnessing an active shooter drill at her daughter’s pre-K program, she was inspired to take action by founding the Hudson County chapter of Moms Demand Action.

“I watched an active shooter drill at my daughter’s school. That changed me forever.  I got involved. Listened. And founded our chapter of Moms Demand Action”, said Emily Jabbour surrounded by Hoboken moms and kids.

“Then I ran for City Council, we expanded youth programs to bring crime down and make our streets safer. I’m Emily Jabbour and I’m running for Mayor. And I’ll keep listening and getting results to keep Hoboken safe and moving forward.”

As a member of City Council, Emily helped draft and pass Hoboken’s municipal safe gun storage ordinance, ensuring that firearms kept in homes are secured and inaccessible to children. The Hoboken Police Department now distributes free gun locks with all permits issued, as well as safety materials encouraging proper storage and care of firearms. Emily has also advocated for city-wide violence interruption partnerships, more youth serving programs, and pushed for improved mental health response services as a part of our public safety strategy.

"I am honored to receive the endorsement of Everytown for Gun Safety, the largest gun violence prevention organization in America. As mayor, I’ll continue to treat gun violence prevention like the life-saving issue it is. My administration will focus on prevention, not just reaction.” Councilwoman Emily Jabbour said.
