CURRIE SLAMS GUADAGNO’S SILENCE ON ASSEMBLYMAN’S EMBRACE OF CONFEDERATE FLAG

[Trenton] — New Jersey State Democratic Chairman John Currie reacted to Republican gubernatorial candidate Kim Guadagno’s refusal to condemn Assemblyman Parker Space’s recent embrace of the confederate flag:

“Mrs. Guadagno has a long record of enabling bad behavior with her silence and inaction. Our economy, our environment, our schools, our transportation infrastructure, our pension system, and our voting rights have all suffered on her watch. So, it’s sad but not surprising that she again sits idly by, refusing to condemn a legislator’s embrace of a symbol of southern segregation. One should not need to see the photo to know it’s inappropriate. And it begs the question: If she won’t stand up and condemn racism, will she stand for anything?”
