Democrats for Change to Host Solidarity Concert Featuring “No Surrender,” The Springsteen Cover Band Cancelled Amid Political Backlash

Montclair, NJ – On Sunday, June 8th, a Solidarity Concert hosted by Ron Arnau (candidate for NJ Assembly, LD-40) and Rohit Dave (candidate for NJ Assembly, LD-27) will feature “No Surrender,” the Bruce Springsteen tribute band recently caught in political controversy. Jersey City Mayor and gubernatorial candidate Steven Fulop and Sheena Collum, candidate for Lieutenant Governor and Mayor of South Orange, will be in attendance. This event is part of a broader Democrats for Change effort to amplify democratic values and support grassroots candidates.

Springsteen’s recent comments urging collective action to defend democracy against authoritarianism sparked national debate, leading to the cancellation of “No Surrender” from the long-running “Asbury Fever” event.

As reported by Rolling Stone, APP, and News12, the band was dropped from venues because of Springsteen’s remarks. This cancellation attracted widespread media attention, including comments from former President Donald Trump. Now, “No Surrender” will headline the Montclair solidarity concert to stand against censorship and promote unity.
