DLGA Endorses New Jersey Lt. Governor Nominee Dr. Dale Caldwell

RELEASE: DLGA Endorses New Jersey Lt. Governor Nominee Dr. Dale Caldwell

WASHINGTON – The Democratic Lieutenant Governors Association (DLGA) today endorses Dr. Dale Caldwell as the next lieutenant governor of New Jersey.

A proven leader with a lifelong commitment to service, Dr. Caldwell will bring experience, and compassion to the role. From his work in government and education to his leadership in the nonprofit and private sectors, Dale will be ready to get to work on Day 1 to make life more affordable for New Jerseyans.

In a show of strong support for his candidacy, the DLGA will contribute $100,000 to Greater Garden State, the DGA-led independent expenditure effort to elect the Sherrill-Caldwell ticket this November.

DLGA Chair and Pennsylvania Lt. Governor Austin Davis released the following statement:

“The Democratic Lt. Governors Association is proud to endorse Dr. Dale Caldwell as the Democratic nominee for New Jersey lieutenant governor.

“Dale brings an innovative approach to problem-solving, a deep commitment to the people he serves, and a relentless work ethic — qualities that have defined his decades of leadership in the private sector, higher education, nonprofits, and public service.

“As the son of civil rights leaders who marched with Dr. King in Selma, Dale has carried forward their legacy through a life of service — from the Department of Community Affairs to the pulpit of his United Methodist Church. In every role, he’s been guided by faith, values, and lifting up others.

“Dale is ready to bring a new kind of leadership to Trenton — one that focuses on possibilities, not politics, and delivers real results for the people of New Jersey. Alongside Mikie Sherrill, Dale will help lift up New Jersey families with a relentless focus on expanding opportunities in every corner of the state and lowering costs on housing, utilities, and healthcare.

“By nominating Dale as their Lt. Governor nominee, Democrats are positioned for a strong, statewide victory this November, and the DLGA looks forward to supporting Dale in the months ahead.”
