FAMILY PROMISE OF MONMOUTH COUNTY TO HOST RIBBON CUTTING CEREMONY on April 5th

Emergency Shelter scheduled to open on Fort Monmouth

FAMILY PROMISE OF MONMOUTH COUNTY will celebrate moving to 501 MALTERER AVENUE IN OCEANPORT, NJ (located on the old Fort Monmouth), with a Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony on FRIDAY, APRIL 5, 2019 from 12PM-1PM. We are delighted to celebrate with federal, state and local elected officials, clergy, major donors, countless volunteers and invite the public to attend the ceremony with an open house and light refreshments to immediately follow.

In 2008, Family Promise was awarded one of the three social services sites by The Fort Monmouth Economic Revitalization Authority (FMERA). Over the past 11 years, this project has garnered the generous support from Hope for Children Foundation, Lowe’s Heroes, Habitat for Humanity, Stillwell-Hansen, Inc and countless dedicated volunteers.

Family Promise of Monmouth County provides homeless children and their families with food, clothing, emergency shelter, transportation, life skills training and comprehensive case management. We are an affiliate of the national Family Promise, and we work with community agencies, interfaith churches, parishes and synagogues to provide innovative solutions to ending family homelessness.

Our Network is comprised of 13 Monmouth County-based host congregations who have pledged the use of their facilities and the participation of volunteer members and 43 support congregations who provide additional volunteers and support. Each year, we provide roughly 12,597 meals and 5,110 bed-nights for families in need.

We are excited to finally move into our new centrally located home and we invite you to join us, Claas Ehlers, CEO of Family Promise- National, Senator Vin Gopal, Mayor Jay Coffey-Oceanport, Monmouth County Freeholder Gerry Scharffenberger, other elected officials, clergy families and community supporters for this celebratory event on Friday, April 5th at 12 noon.

The mission of Family Promise of Monmouth County is to provide food, clothing, shelter and comprehensive services to homeless children & families in Monmouth County in cooperation with a network of interfaith congregations while advocating innovative solutions to end chronic homelessness.
