EVESHAM, NJ – June 16, 2020 – David Richter, Republican candidate for Congress in New Jersey’s Third District, announced today that he has received the endorsement of former Assemblywoman Maria Rodriguez-Gregg.
Rodriguez-Gregg served in the New Jersey Assembly from 2014 to 2018 representing the Eighth Legislative District. She was the first Republican Hispanic woman ever elected to the New Jersey Legislature. She is also a former President of the Burlington County Young Republicans.
“Since the first time David reached out to me, I knew he would be a champion for domestic violence prevention. As a survivor, I know firsthand the trauma and devastation of being in an abusive situation. David has committed to me that as our Congressman he will support the reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act, close the ‘boyfriend’ and ‘stalker’ loopholes, and work with local legislators to support initiatives that protect all people from intimate partner violence,” said Rodriguez-Gregg.
“While David is a staunch 2nd Amendment advocate, I know that he wants to keep firearms out of the hands of violent abusers while protecting the rights of law-abiding gun owners. Additionally, David will continue to support legislation that removes the red tape that often prevents victims’ access to firearms permits. We need an advocate and I know he will be that advocate,” she said.
“David’s years of experience and executive leadership, the love he has for this community, his wife, and his four daughters make him the right choice. I look forward to working with him in the future.” added Rodriguez-Gregg.
“I would like to thank Maria for her endorsement. She has dedicated her life to public service, first in elective office and more recently as a tireless advocate against domestic abuse. I am truly honored that she has chosen to support my campaign for Congress,” said Richter.
Richter is the former CEO of global construction management firm Hill International. During his time at the company, Hill grew from a struggling family business with less than 300 employees into a successful public company with more than 4,300 employees. A lifelong Republican, Richter grew up in and has spent most of his life living and working in the Third District. He earned two bachelor’s degrees and a law degree from Penn as well as master’s degrees from Oxford and Harvard. Richter and his wife Michelle, who have been married for 20 years, are the parents of four daughters.
