Gonzalez and Mushnick Call on Hudson County Democrats to Disavow DeBlasio Hatred of Charter Schools
Jersey City – Responding to reports that incompetent and tardy leftist New York City Mayor and gadfly Presidential candidate Mayor Bill DeBlasio said he “hates” charter schools, Hudson County Executive Candidate Kennith Gonzalez and 31st District Assembly candidate Jason Mushnick called on the county’s Democratic leadership to condemn DeBlasio’s extremist remarks.
“New Jersey’s Charter Schools help over 50,000, mostly urban children gain educational opportunities. As a young person of an immigrant background I know just how important this is. Many Democrats, including Steve Adubato in nearby Newark, have given children a real chance at success through tirelessly supporting charter schools. I hope Hudson County Democrats see the value of that and resist joining Bill DeBlasio on the extreme left of the party on this very important issue,” Gonzalez said.
“Not allowing competition and innovation in the educational field will reduce quality and imperil our future. While I am not surprised that Comrade Bill DeBlasio is holding children back from their full potential, Hudson County Democrats need to support our charter schools. If they cannot, the Republican team needs to be elected to support improving urban education.” Mushnick concluded.
