Gottheimer votes to support H.R. 987 – the Strengthening Health Care and Lowering Prescription Drug Costs Act
WASHINGTON – On Thursday, May 16, 2019, U.S. Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5) voted to support the bipartisan Strengthening Health Care and Lowering Prescription Drug Costs Act (H.R. 987), which passed the House 234 to 183. H.R. 987 strengthens the Affordable Care Act, reinforces the individual marketplace, and makes prescription drugs more affordable.
“I’m committed to protecting those with pre-existing conditions and lowering out-of-pocket costs for prescription drugs,” said Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5). “Ensuring access to quality health care isn’t a Democrat or Republican issue, it’s a Fifth District issue. It’s an American issue. It’s a mom and dad issue. It’s a basic Jersey issue.”
Gottheimer is committed to putting North Jersey residents first. H.R. 987 is a key part of ongoing efforts to lower health care and prescription drug costs and ensure that all Americans have access to affordable and quality health care.
