Governor-elect Phil Murphy announces future First Lady Tammy Murphy as Inaugural Committee Chair

Liz Gilbert to serve as Executive Director

 

Trenton – Governor-elect Phil Murphy today announced that future First Lady Tammy Snyder Murphy will chair his Inaugural Committee and lead all planning efforts for a series of official Inaugural events. The events will take place over five days from Friday, January 12 through Tuesday, January 16 when Governor-elect Murphy is sworn in at the Trenton War Memorial.

 

“Phil’s election is a turning of the page for New Jersey, and the inaugural events will reflect the values, principles, and opportunity of the moment,” Tammy Murphy said. “Many challenges lie ahead, but I share Phil’s optimism for our state’s future. This inaugural will highlight and celebrate the boundless potential that exists in every corner of our state. I am thrilled to lead the inaugural committee as we share themes, events, and service opportunities to mark a new day in our great state.”

 

Details of the inaugural events will be announced separately.

 

Mrs. Murphy announced that Liz Gilbert will serve as executive director of the Inaugural Committee. Gilbert was the Governor-elect’s national finance and surrogate director, and chief of staff to Mrs. Murphy during the campaign.
