Governor Murphy Directs U.S. and New Jersey Flags to Fly at Half-Staff in Honor of Veterans Day and the 100th Anniversary of the End of World War I

TRENTON – Governor Phil Murphy today has ordered that U.S and New Jersey flags be flown at half-staff at all state buildings and facilities on Monday, November 12, in honor of Veterans Day, which this year marks the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I.

“One hundred years ago, the world celebrated the end of the Great War with the hope that this type of global calamity would never be repeated,” said Governor Murphy. “While tragically these hopes were not realized, we must continue to strive for a world that lives up to the ideals of democracy, freedom, and global peace, and we must remember our nation’s heroes who served in World War I and in armed conflicts in the century since. We are forever in their gratitude.”
