GUSCIORA: REVOLUTIONARY COL. RALL’S GRAVESITE

TO GET FACELIFT

New Plaque to be dedicated during Trenton’s Patriots Week

(Trenton) – As part of Trenton’s Patriot Week, Assemblyman Reed Gusciora (D-Mercer/Hunterdon) on Saturday will preside over the rededication of the grave stone of Colonel Johann Rall, the Commander of the Hessian Troops during the Revolutionary Battle of Trenton.

Colonel Rall was mortally wounded during the Battle of Trenton on December 27, 1776 and buried at the historic First Presbyterian Church of Trenton on East State Street.  A few years ago scrappers stole the original cast iron plaque.  The plaque is being replaced by local Trenton sign-maker George Zienowicz.

In conjunction with the Trenton Downtown Association, the Old Barracks, and First Presbyterian Church, Assemblyman Gusciora will be hosting a reception at the Presbyterian Church at 1pm on Saturday, December 30, 2017 during Trenton’s Patriots Week.

Historic Revolutionary War reenactors will then march over from the Old Barracks and perform a graveside service to commemorate the life of Colonel Rall at 2 pm along with the rededication of the Colonel’s grave and plaque.

The First Presbyterian Church is located at 120 E State Street, in Trenton, NJ, 08608.
