Gusciora Statement on Today’s Shooting at Sante Fe High School in Texas

“Proclaims Our Young People Are Begging For Help And We As A City And A Nation

Need To Do Something And If Elected Mayor, I Will!”

Assemblyman Reed Gusciora (D-Trenton) issued the following statement regarding today’s shooting at Sante Fe High School in Texas:

“Today another mentally ill young person attacked and killed many of his school mates in Texas. This week, we had three people shot in Trenton. Yet again we are mourning senseless gun violence in our nation.  It is shameful that while children die our leaders in Washington stand frozen and unable to act with any substantial measure to curb this epidemic.  As an Assemblyman I have been a statewide leader when it comes to sensible gun control.  As mayor, I will continue my fight and make it an absolute priority to curb gun violence in Trenton and use the office to advocate for even stronger laws in New Jersey and across the nation.  While we all mourn for the many victims and their families, this is also a message about how fragile life is and how important it is tell our children- how much we love them everyday. I ask ALL Trentonians to pray for peace in Texas and in Trenton as we try to heal in a world that is no longer safe, nor predictable.”
