RUTGERS-EAGLETON POLL: ‘MENENDEZ REMAINS LACKLUSTER’
More Disapprove than Approve of Senator

MOUNTAINSIDE, NJ — The latest Rutgers-Eagleton Poll shows a meager 22 percent of adults had a favorable opinion of Menendez, compared with 35 percent with an unfavorable view. His job approval/disapproval ratio was 33 percent to 37 percent.

“New Jerseyans know they deserve a Senator who will fight for them every day—not one who spends his time trying to stay one step ahead of the law.” said Hugin Communications Director Megan Piwowar. “Our campaign has and will continue to educate voters on Menendez’s failed, corrupt track record. When it comes down to a tale of two Bobs from Union City, we are confident that New Jersey voters will elect Bob Hugin, a former Marine and successful business leader, and give our state a Senator we can be proud of again.”

Recently, Senator Menendez narrowly avoided federal prison and was ‘severely admonished’ by the Bipartisan Senate Ethics Committee.

“New Jersey is embarrassed that a Florida-based doctor could buy their Senator, and in doing so, to violate federal law and abuse his office to intervene in the Obama Justice Department’s investigation into Melgen’s Medicare fraud scheme. It’s why the New York Times and Star Ledger both called on Menendez to resign from office. Enough already—Corruption has no place in the U.S. Senate,” said Piwowar.

Bob Hugin, a Marine Corps Veteran and business leader who has created thousands of New Jersey jobs, is seeking the Republican nomination for U.S. Senate to challenge incumbent Democrat Senator Bob Menendez.
