INDIVISIBLE NJ 4TH DISTRICT HOSTS CD4 CANDIDATE JIM KEADY IN  MEET THE CANDIDATES SERIES

Jim Keady, a candidate for the June 2018 congressional Democratic primary, will speak at the first of three forum-style events.

LINCROFT, N.J., (January 21, 2017) – Indivisible NJ 4th District, in partnership with Indivisible Two Rivers, The Greater Red Bank Women’s Initiative, and Allentown-Upper Freehold Indivisible, will host candidate Jim Keady in the first Meet the Candidates series this winter. The event, which is open to the public, will take place on January 25, from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation 1475 W Front St. in Lincroft.

“Jim is a former member of the Asbury Park City Council, a veteran of numerous campaigns, and passionate grassroots activist,” said Kevin Akey, Indivisible NJ 4th District steering committee member. “We are delighted to have someone with his enthusiasm and passion kick off our Candidate Nights Series.”

Akey continued, “Our goal for the Candidate Night Series is to help voters make an informed decision about their vote.  We are offering an opportunity for voters to have a one-to-one chance to engage each candidate in extended dialogue and discussion of issues with follow up questions. We believe this format will help voters evaluate each candidate’s strengths and weaknesses in a way that a debate does not.”

In addition to answering audience questions, Mr. Keady who was recently endorsed by The Tri-City News, will describe his qualifications for office, his motivation for running, positions on important issues and how he intends to defeat Congressman Chris Smith in the November congressional election. Rep. Smith, who has represented New Jersey’s 4th congressional district since 1981, has not hosted a constituent town hall in over two decades.

The primary election for the U.S. House of Representatives will take place on June 5, 2018. The deadline for registering to vote in the June primary election is May 15th. Those voters who wish to change their party affiliation must do so by April 11th. Individuals who wish to participate in the primary but are not registered or want to change party affiliation can visit the NJ Division of Elections: http://www.njelections.org/voting-information.html
