Jack Ciattarelli on Republican Price Hike Bill: "Shame on Any Republican Across the Country That Doesn't Support This"
TRENTON, NJ – As the Senate passes Donald Trump’s tax hike bill, which would gut healthcare access, jack up energy and housing costs, and raise taxes by reinstating the SALT cap, here’s what Jack Ciattarelli thinks about it, in his own words:
“Shame on any Republican across the country that doesn’t support this. The president supports it.”
It’s what Donald Trump wants. That means it’s what Jack Ciattarelli wants – makes sense, as Jack says he agrees with Trump on every single issue.
- As just one example: A New Jersey family of two, each earning $60,000/year, would pay about $5,500 more every year in higher costs (almost 5% of their total income) because of this bill.
- All told, 410,000 people in this state are estimated to lose health insurance because of this bill – 320,000 from its Medicaid and ACA cuts and an additional 90,000 from its non-extension of ACA tax credits.
- There’s no defending what Senate Republicans just passed. That’s why Ciattarelli is resorting to bizarre lies and obfuscations to do it, like saying “President Trump’s not cutting any of those things.”
“‘100% MAGA’ Jack Ciattarelli 100% owns this massive tax hike on New Jerseyans, and even said ‘shame on any Republican’ who didn’t support it. He's more focused on licking Trump's boots than taking on the issues that are hurting New Jersey families – that’s how he ran in the primary, it’s how he’s running now, and it’s why those families are going to reject him this November,” said New Jersey Democratic State Committee spokesperson Ryan Radulovacki.
