JNESO Healthcare Union Endorses Mikie Sherrill for Congress in NJ-11
North Brunswick, N.J. — JNESO District Council 1, representing over 5,000 healthcare workers in New Jersey, announced their endorsement of Mikie Sherrill, Democratic candidate for Congress in New Jersey’s 11th Congressional District.
“Healthcare professionals across New Jersey need leaders in Congress focused on improving our healthcare system for patients, practitioners, and medical personnel alike,” said JNESO Executive Director, Doug Placa. “JNESO supports candidates who want to improve healthcare and understand the important role nurses and healthcare professionals play. Our Board of Directors has endorsed Mikie Sherrill for Congress because we know she will work to improve care for residents across her district.”
“Healthcare workers devote their lives to caring for our children, our parents, and our neighbors,” said Mikie Sherrill. “We need to strengthen the healthcare system in this country, and make sure each and every American has access to quality and affordable care. I am proud to receive JNESO’s endorsement.”
Mikie Sherrill is a former Navy helicopter pilot, federal prosecutor, and mother of four. Sherrill is running for Congress to fight for our families and put their needs ahead of the partisanship that prevents Washington from getting things done. She stands against stripping the 130 million Americans with pre-existing conditions of their access to care and is against reducing care for seniors and children through cuts to Medicare and CHIP.
JNESO represents more than 5,000 healthcare professionals in 19 facilities in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. The JNESO union represents nurses, licensed professional technicians, and others in the healthcare field. www.jneso.org
