Kean Jr. Refuses to Say January 6th Violence Was Not “Legitimate Political Discourse”
Tom Kean Jr.’s second refusal this week to say January 6th was not “legitimate political discourse” exposes a larger truth – Tom Kean Jr. has aligned with radical extremists in the Republican Party.
Kean Jr. has swooped up political support and donations from Republicans who voted to overturn the election, oppose funding for the Gateway Tunnel, and oppose lowering taxes for New Jersey families.
His silence on January 6th shows he’s with them, not New Jersey.
Kean, the former state Senate Republican Leader running against Democratic Rep. Tom Malinowski in the 7th Congressional District, did not respond to three days of requests for comment.
Multiple attempts to solicit any reaction to the RNC resolution from Republican members of the New Jersey delegation have resulted in crickets. Requests made to Rep. Chris Smith and Rep. Jeff Van Drew were not acknowledged, nor was the request made to former state senator Tom Kean Jr.., who is seeking to unseat Rep. Tom Malinowski in the 7th District.
