Kyle Little Responds to Supreme Court Threat to Overturn Marriage Equality: “I Will Fight for My Community Every Single Day”
TRENTON, NJ – Following yesterday’s alarming news that the Supreme Court has been asked to officially reverse same-sex marriage, Democratic congressional candidate Kyle Little issued a strong statement condemning the ongoing attacks on LGBTQ+ rights by the Trump-aligned MAGA movement.
“I am not shocked at all,” Little said. “This comes in light of the Trump administration’s and MAGA Republicans’ anti-LGBTQ equal rights agenda. From day one, they have sought to drag us backward—stripping away hard-fought rights, ignoring the humanity of LGBTQ Americans, and fueling discrimination.”
Little, an openly gay man in a same-sex marriage, stressed the personal stakes of this fight. “As a small business owner, I am on my husband’s health insurance. If marriage equality is reversed, I could lose my own health care—as could countless other LGBTQ couples. These attacks are not just political theater—they’re life-altering for real families like mine.”
Little emphasized his commitment to protecting all members of the LGBTQ community, including transgender Americans, who face disproportionate risks to their mental health.
“Transgender individuals are nine times more likely to attempt suicide than cisgender individuals, with 41% attempting suicide at some point in their lives. As a member of Congress, I will push for stronger suicide prevention programs specifically for openly trans people. No one should ever feel that their only option is to take their own life because society refuses to accept them.”
The candidate vowed to be a fierce advocate in Washington. “The LGBTQ community has always been under attack. This is a fight we will continue to fight. And I promise you this—if elected, I will fight for equality, for dignity, and for the right to love who you love for the rest of my days.”
