LD26 Assembly Candidate Christine Clarke Receives Endorsement of PAM’s List

Jefferson Twp., NJ:   26th Legislative District State Assembly candidate Christine Clarke has received the endorsement of PAM’s List, a PAC which supports Democratic, pro-choice women to the New Jersey State Legislature.

Christine Clarke is an environmental advocate, a grassroots organizer and mother-of-four running for State Assembly to advance clean energy jobs, protect clean air and water, improve healthcare, and legislate with empathy and fiscal responsibility.  Clarke has long been an advocate for women’s causes and healthcare rights, including but not limited to rights to privacy and personal choice in reproductive healthcare.

Clarke stood up with women in response to the onslaught of bills passed in other states’ legislatures restricting women’s reproductive healthcare access. She has several times traveled to D.C. with advocates and spoken publicly in support of protecting healthcare provisions and standards.

By contrast her opponents, incumbents Betty Lou DeCroce and Jay Webber, are respectively primary sponsor and co-sponsor of extremist bill A5287 mirroring ideological restrictions and healthcare obstructions passing in other states.  They both have 0% scores out of 100 on supporting women’s reproductive healthcare per Planned Parenthood’s 2016-2017 Legislative Scorecard.

“The entire New Jersey Legislature is up for re-election or replacement in 2019, and if this political moment serves to prove anything to voters it should show that what we commonly consider human rights and human decency are at risk in every election,” Clarke said.  “It’s crucial that people bear this in mind when they go to the polls on November 5.”

Clarke is also endorsed by the New Jersey Sierra Club, The New Jersey AFL-CIO, by the New Jersey League of Conservation Voters, by The Center for Biological Diversity Action Fund, by Action Together New Jersey, by Progressive Change Campaign Committee, by SOMA Action, by Our Revolution Essex County and by the Democratic Party in Morris, Essex and Passaic Counties.  She has lived in Jefferson for 15 years with her husband and four children.  You can learn more about her at www.clarkeforassembly.com.

PAM’s List has also endorsed Clarke’s running mate, Laura Fortgang.

The 26th District includes 13 communities in Essex, Morris, and Passaic counties: Butler, Fairfield, Jefferson, Kinnelon, Lincoln Park, Montville, Morris Plains, North Caldwell, Parsippany, Rockaway Township, Verona, West Caldwell, and West Milford.
