LOCAL ACTIVIST GROUPS TO PARTICIPATE IN MOTORCADE AS PART OF WORLDWIDE DEMONSTRATION
Indivisible NJ 4th District will protest outside of Trump National Golf Club in Colts Neck, NJ on September 23.
COLTS NECK, N.J., (September 20, 2017) – Indivisible NJ 4th District, a local grassroots group that aims to disrupt the Trump agenda, will gather for a motorcade on Saturday, September 23 at Trump National Golf Club in Colts Neck, NJ. The purpose of the event is to protest environmental destruction, wealth inequality, white supremacy, political illegitimacy, economic cannibalism, and corrupt cronyism.
This demonstration is part of a worldwide movement of opposition and protest. Motorcades, marches, and rallies are scheduled at Trump properties throughout the region, the nation, and abroad. A video link will tie them together in the first grassroots media demonstration of global solidarity against Trump’s brand of extreme right wing authoritarianism.
Locally, Trump National Golf Club has already been the site of opposition and protests. Last month, Indivisible NJ 4th District joined forces with other local activist groups to demonstrate outside of the Colts Neck club. The August motorcade, which occurred in the aftermath of the protests in Charlottesville, VA, was part of a series of protests statewide.
The September 23rd event will amplify those voices and connect them to the larger chorus against the economic exclusion, political abuse, and environmental arrogance being acted out across the globe. The motorcade, made up of vehicles with expressive signs and effigies, will proceed in a line on an orderly route, calling attention to the protest from other drivers and passersby.
Participants will gather at 10am at the Colts Neck High School, in the northeast corner of the parking lot on Rt. 537. At approximately 10:45 a.m., the demonstrators will proceed in their vehicles to the following driving route negotiated with local officials, with as little inconvenience to the public as possible: taking Rt. 34 South, turning right onto Professional Circle and following its loop clockwise around past the Trump National Golf Course entrance, then exiting back onto Rt. 34 South and repeating.
