Lonegan stands with Trump at
70th Anniversary of Israel Rally in New York City

New York City – New Jersey conservative leader Steve Lonegan, candidate for Congress in the state’s 5th District, spoke to a crowd of thousands in New York City yesterday at a rally to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the State of Israel.

Lonegan highlighted his long relationship with and advocacy for the Jewish faith, the cause of Israel – and his opposition to those who would undermine the Jewish State through the use of violence and terror. He went on to praise the steps the Republican administration of Donald Trump has taken to support Israel and the Jewish cause, and to take on Iranian-sponsored terrorism.

“[T]he movement of the embassy to Jerusalem and the defunding of the Iranian efforts to build nuclear weapons and become a force against our allies is having an effect,” said Lonegan. “The Iranian government understands that under this president we can crush them.”

“In Iran today, the Iranian government is in turmoil, the rial is in a freefall, across Iran good Iranians, as we stand here today, are organizing and preparing to revolt against this terrorist regime. That’s the result of this administration.”

“Donald Trump is the most pro-Israel president in American history,” stated Lonegan, adding:  “You need to elect a Republican majority that will support President Trump and support Israel every single day.”

Lonegan, who is seeking the Republican nomination on June 5th, was also praised by pro-Israel activist Cindy Grosz for being responsible for the eruv in Teaneck during his tenure as mayor of Bogota and for twinning with Beth-el in Israel, stating: “Very few mayors, Jewish or non-Jewish, have ever done that.”
