Lopez Statement on Puerto Rico Relief Commission Report

(TRENTON) – Assemblywoman Yvonne Lopez (D-Middlesex) released the following statement on the Puerto Rico Relief Commission Report:

“As a proud Puerto Rican woman and former Executive Director of The Puerto Rican Association for Human Development, Inc., a nonprofit organization that has actively provided supportive services to our Puerto Rico evacuees in New Jersey, I am pleased by the recommendations and findings that the Commission on Puerto Rico has reported in the past three months.

“The Commission has made great strides in providing immediate relief to Puerto Rico as well as demonstrable commitments towards continuing to assist the Puerto Rican Government in a coordinated and comprehensive long term recovery strategy.

“This Commission shows that our Governor and the State of New Jersey have not abandoned Puerto Rico evacuees and will continue to be involved in restoring the resources Puerto Rican citizens have lost during and after the hurricane this past year.”
