Immigrant Organization Calls for State and Local Leaders to Stand Up to Defend Immigrant Communities

July 11, 2019 – Elizabeth, NJ: In response to George Norcross’ statements recently reported on in The Intercept that characterize immigrants as criminals, Olga Armas issued the following statement on behalf of Make the Road New Jersey:

“As the Trump administration announces mass raids on immigrant communities, we need our elected officials and leaders to stand with immigrant communities and denounce this vile rhetoric. Immigrants are our strength – we are not criminals and we make New Jersey great. There has never been a more urgent time for state and local leaders to stand up to defend our communities. Our families and our futures are on the line.”
