Malinowski Earns Endorsement of AFSCME New Jersey Council 63 and NUHHCE 1199J

American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME), the largest trade labor union of public employees in the United States has endorsed Tom Malinowski in New Jersey’s 7th Congressional District over incumbent representative, Leonard Lance.

“The public servants who work tirelessly to ensure our federal agencies are up to America’s great standards deserve our gratitude and respect,” said Steve Tully, Executive Director of AFSCME Council 63. “With his track record of standing up for fairness and human rights, we are proud to entrust Tom Malinowski with our endorsement.”

“I am honored to receive the support of AFSCME,” Malinowski said. “As an Assistant Secretary of State, I oversaw our government’s efforts to champion labor rights around the world and I am dedicated to protecting workers from losing the raises they deserve or benefits they earned. The rights of working people are under attack in Washington, and I will do everything in my power to see the next Congress fight back.”

Tom is the former Assistant Secretary of State for Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor. He oversaw the U.S. State Department’s Office of International Labor Affairs during the Obama Administration, serving as the chief advocate for worker protections in our international trade agreements and providing support to trade union activists around the world.
