Malinowski Earns Endorsement of

New Jersey State AFL-CIO

(Atlantic City, NJ) The New Jersey State AFL-CIO has voted to back Tom Malinowski in New Jersey’s 7th Congressional District over incumbent representative, Leonard Lance. The labor movement has long been a force in New Jersey elections and will activate its members to work on behalf of Malinowski and other endorsed candidates to make Congress a friendlier place for working people.

“After last year’s banner victory for working families, the labor movement will once again mobilize to secure across-the-board victories for pro-worker candidates,” said New Jersey State AFL-CIO President Charles Wowkanech. “Labor’s voice ensures that New Jersey remains a leader in terms of workplace justice, and together, we will continue to build our economy through job creation, fair wages, and our middle class values of equal opportunity and socioeconomic mobility.”

“I am extremely proud to have the support of the New Jersey State AFL-CIO. As an Assistant Secretary of State, I oversaw our government’s efforts to champion labor rights around the world, and to make sure American workers weren’t cheated out of the raise they deserve or the benefits they earned,” said Malinowski. “As your Congressman I am dedicated to continuing that work.  The rights of working people are under assault in Washington, and I will do everything in my power to see the next Congress fights back.”

Tom is the former Assistant Secretary of State for Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor. He oversaw the U.S. State Department’s Office of International Labor Affairs during the Obama Administration, serving as the chief advocate for worker protections in our international trade agreements and providing support to trade union activists around the world.
