Malinowski Establishes Jewish Advisory Council

(Bridgewater, NJ) Tom Malinowski for Congress, a lifelong friend of the Jewish community, supporter of Israel, and leader in the battle against anti-Semitism throughout the world, today announced the establishment of the campaign’s Jewish Advisory Council; a distinguished panel of clergy and lay leaders committed to sustaining America’s relationship with Israel, and concerned about the exploitation of Israel to foment division within NJ07’s Jewish community. The Council will advise Tom on matters relevant to the Jewish community and help facilitate local outreach opportunities for the campaign. Its members include:

  1. Rabbi Charles Kroloff – Rabbi Emeritus, Temple Emanu-El, Westfield and Past President, Central Conference of American Rabbis

  2. Rabbi Dan Cohen –  Temple Sharey Tefilo Israel (TSTI) and member of the National Advisory Council for AIPAC

  3. Rabbi Eric Yoffie – Past President of the Union for Reform Judaism

  4. June Fischer – Board of Directors 2018-2019, JCC of Central NJ and Board Member of the National Democratic Jewish Council

  5. Liz Cohen – Co-Chair of the Reform Jewish Voice of New Jersey

“Israel’s alliance with the United States must be maintained and strengthened. That alliance is with the United States, not with the any one political party — we must keep it above and beyond partisan politics or risk alienating millions of Americans, especially younger people, without whose support our alliance with Israel will not survive,” said Malinowski. “I look forward to working with these distinguished leaders, and to benefitting from their advice as a candidate and as a Congressman.

“Tom Malinowski has been a friend to Israel his entire career. From fighting anti-Israel bias in the UN Human Rights Council to providing American support that exposed and punished acts of Anti-Semitism around the world,” said Council Chairman Rabbi Charles Kroloff. “Tom’s strong security background and commitment to keeping our relationship with Israel above politics represents the kind of leadership that will keep Israel safe in these extraordinary times.”

As Asst. Secretary of State for Democracy, Human Rights and Labor Tom oversaw the State Department’s Office to Monitor and Combat Anti-Semitism.  The Trump Administration has discontinued these efforts while emboldening white nationalist groups in America with rhetoric about foreigners threatening “the culture” of our country. Tom Malinowski has been endorsed by the National Democratic Jewish Council.

Membership on the advisory council represents a personal endorsement of Tom Malinowski and does not reflect the views of any associated organizations.
