Mayor Felix E. Roque Responds to New Beginnings Comments on Lawsuit

West New York, New Jersey – Mayor Felix E. Roque responded to New Beginnings spokesman stating: “Obviously Mr. Swibinski is new to West New York and has no knowledge of the condition this town was in 8 years ago before I became Mayor. As a result of the prior administration, West New York was in financial crisis.  Taxes were raised 51%, numerous police officers were laid off, the roads and parks were in disrepair and our schools needed improvement.

Through my leadership we turned the town around. Taxes were cut and stabilized for the last 8 years, 30 police officers were added to the department, the crime rate was cut 17%, 90% of our roads were paved, parks were improved, a new school was built and a second school renovated demonstrating a proven record of good management. My opponents for their own political gain are trying to ignore and distort the truth. The proof of my leadership and excellent management is in the results.
