Mayor Gusciora Tips Hat to Hope Grant for Interim Superintendent

Trenton N.J. – Mayor Reed Gusciora favors the appointment of Principal Hope Grant, of Trenton Central High School, to become the interim Superintendent of Trenton Public Schools (TPS).

“Principal Grant has proved herself time and time again. She knows the schools, the students, and the surrounding area well enough to thrive in that position,” stated Mayor Gusciora

With Dr. McDowell, the standing Superintendent, poised to leave before the start of the coming school year, Mayor Gusciora stressed the need for the interim appointment to be familiar with Trenton Schools. “We have qualified and capable candidates right here in Trenton. The community is behind her, and she is dedicated to the city she loves.”

Gusciora noted that Principal Grant has led Trenton Central High School since 2013. Before that appointment she had worked in-district for 13 years.

“Someone with her tenure and track-record within TPS deserves a chance lead public education in the Capital City,” continued the Mayor. “She’s a strong woman and won’t have to come up to speed in order to succeed.”
