Mayor Gusciora’s Statement on the Passing of Eunice Samuels-Lewis

TRENTON, N.J. – It is with heavy heart I inform you that our long time Court Director, Eunice E. Samuels-Lewis, passed away this past weekend in Florida. Eunice had worked for Trenton Municipal Court since 2000 and was beloved by Court staff and visiting attorneys. Eunice was in the process of creating a Community Court for persons with addictions as well as mental and social challenges.

Ms. Samuels-Lewis leaves behind two sons, Harold and Jacob. She earned her B.A. from Rutgers and a law degree from Seton Hall University. Among her many charitable activities, she was a soror with Zeta Phi Beta and a member of Shiloh Baptist Church. Funeral arrangements to be announced.

I previously knew Eunice when I was an Assistant Prosecutor at Trenton Municipal Court and will always remember her cheerful demeanor and ability to brighten up a room. She will be sorely missed by our City’s residents.
