Mayor Moench Holds First Telephone Town Hall for Residents
Bridgewater, NJ – Last night, Mayor Matthew Moench, joined by Bridgewater’s Health and Emergency Management Officials, held a Telephone Town Hall for Bridgewater residents to discuss the municipal response the COVID-19 pandemic.
The community conversation ranged from information released on positive cases in Bridgewater to public health safety tips for families and included discussion on municipal taxes and revenues. The full recording of the call will be available for residents on the Township’s social media pages.
“Myself, along with the Township Council, are always looking for different ways to reach the residents of this community,” said Mayor Moench. “When I took office just over 100 days ago, I knew that I wanted to foster a proactive and responsive government. This crisis has crystallized the importance of that mission. Last night was a success and I look forward to engaging further with our residents and hearing from them directly.”
In addition to the Telephone Town Hall, the Township has also created a dedicated email, Coronavirus@BridgewaterNJ.gov, and phone number, 908-429-8444, for COVID-19 related inquiries. The Township is also regularly posting informational content on its social media channels along with a daily update of new cases, total cases and COVID-19 related fatalities.
“The information we are disseminating can be both informational and disconcerting for our residents but an informed community is always a more impactful one,” said Mayor Moench. “We continue to keep the individuals and families struggling with this disease in our thoughts and prayers and wish them a swift recovery. I know we will come out of this stronger and closer as a community.”
