Mayor Stephen Reid Announces Re-Election Campaign; Endorses John Catalano for Assembly
Mayor Reid will run for re-election with Council President Tom Vogel and Councilman Tom Toohey
Point Pleasant Beach, NJ: Stephen Reid today announced his re-election campaign for Mayor of Point Pleasant Beach. A life-long resident of the Borough, Reid is seeking to continue to build on his administration’s last four years of success along with his running-mates Council President Tom Vogel and Councilman Tom Toohey.
“Point Pleasant Beach is the town I grew up in and the place I will always call home. These last four years as Mayor have been an incredible experience and I am excited to announce my re-election campaign. Point Pleasant has given so much to my family and I want to continue to build on the success of my first term to continue giving back to this amazing community.”
Running for re-election with Council President Tom Vogel and Councilman Tom Toohey, Mayor Reid is seeking to build on the many successes of his administration’s first four years. Under Mayor Reid’s leadership, Point Pleasant has enjoyed the lowest tax rate of any town in Ocean County with a K-12 school system. Point Beach’s downtown business district, once marred by vacant store fronts, has returned to its former vibrancy. Mayor Reid improved our quality of life and public safety through enhancements to school security, banning of marijuana dispensaries and improvements to our police force. Most importantly, after years of divisiveness and infighting, Mayor Stephen Reid has reunited our town and returned a sense of community. The Reid team is eager to continue to take Point Pleasant Beach forward for the benefit of all its residents.
Reid continued, “I make this announcement with the full support of Council President Tom Vogel, Councilman Tom Toohey, Councilman Bob Santanello, Councilman Tom Migut, and Councilman Andy Cortes. I have proudly worked with our Council to improve the lives of every resident and look forward to our continued work of making Point Pleasant Beach the best shore community in New Jersey. The Reid team is the only team that will be able to run on an actual record of accomplishment and we look forward to a spirited campaign engaging the voters as we continue to move Point Pleasant in a positive and forward direction.”
“I would also like to take this opportunity to give my endorsement and full support to John Catalano for the soon to be vacant Assembly seat in the 10th legislative district. I am confident I would have made an excellent legislator for the residents of the 10th District, however I respect the Ocean County GOP screening process results and intend to work very hard to elect John to the State Assembly.” ###
