McKeon Hails Murphy Order to have N.J. Rejoin Initiative to Reduce Greenhouse Gases

(TRENTON) – Assemblyman John McKeon (D- Essex/Morris) released the following statement Monday commending Gov. Murphy’s executive order mandating that New Jersey rejoin the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI):

“This new directive will set New Jersey on a path to rejoin nine other states in an effort to reduce carbon admissions. This is a return to sound environmental policy and the reversal of the nearly decade-long anti-environmental agenda under Gov. Christie.

“New Jersey now charts a new road to a brighter and greener future.  I look forward to working on many permanent legislative fixes that will, once again, make New Jersey a leader in combating the effects of climate change.

“New Jersey must take action where President Trump’s administration fails to lead.  No longer can anyone continue to blatantly ignore the truth of climate science. Gov. Murphy has returned New Jersey to a science and fact based policy.”
