Support Strong for Menendez with 12-Year Fundraising High in 3Q
New Brunswick, NJ – The Menendez for Senate campaign today announced it had its most successful single fundraising quarter in more than 12 years, when it took in more than $2 million, the highest since Q1-2006. In Q3-2018, Bob Menendez raised a combined $2.8 million for both his reelection effort and to help elect Democrats statewide, a 22% jump from the combined $2.3 million raised last quarter.
“The energy and excitement can be felt across the state as we head into the final stretch. The support for Bob Menendez continues to grow as voters understand what’s at stake in this election. The Senator has the support of real people who share New Jersey values and believe in the Senator’s long record of delivering for our state,” said Campaign Communications Director Steve Sandberg. “Greedy, drug company CEO Bob Hugin is trying to buy a Senate seat with the blood money he made ripping off cancer patients. New Jerseyans don’t want an extreme right-wing, Trump stooge like Bob Hugin representing them in the U.S. Senate. They want a proven fighter like Bob Menendez, who will always have their backs and stand up to Donald Trump and his dangerous policies.”
The $ 2,844,555.34 raised this quarter to help re-elect Bob Menendez and fund the statewide GOTV operation includes $2,097,533.33 for the Menendez for Senate campaign, $731,022.01 through the Menendez Victory Fund for the Democratic State Committee (DSC), and an additional $16,000 directly to the DSC. The Senator also took in an additional $141,325.49 in New Millennium PAC receipts.
The campaign reported $2,536,405.43 total raised last quarter: $1,628,738.64 for the Menendez for Senate campaign; $697,587 to the DSC via the Menendez Victory Fund; $35,000 directly to the DSC; and $175,079.79 to New Millennium PAC. Menendez for Senate raised $1,585,356.71 in Q3-2006 and $1,320,804.07 in Q3-2012.
To date, the Menendez for Senate campaign and Menendez Victory Fund have raised a combined $14.5 million with $6.3 million cash on hand.
