MURELLO JOINS BUCCO, BERGEN IN CALLING OUT BHIMANI AND DRAEGER’S SILENCE ON BUDGET
WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ – Today, Washington Township Mayor Matt Murello joined Assemblyman Anthony Bucco and Brian Bergen in calling out Lisa Bhimani and Darcy Draeger’s continued silence on the Democratic budget signed by Phil Murphy on Sunday:
“As a result of Phil Murphy’s new school funding formula, our school district will lose $5 million in the coming years. And though we are the hardest hit in Morris County, we are not alone,” said Murello. “Our residents will directly bear the brunt of this through either cuts to our education system or higher taxes. Neither are acceptable. Assemblyman Bucco has been a leader in this fight to restore funding. But because of the Democratic civil war in Trenton, Lisa Bhimani and Darcy Draeger can’t even tell us whose side they’re on. Anthony and Brian are right – that’s cowardice, not leadership. And leadership is exactly what we need right now.”
