New Jersey Building and Construction Trades Council Endorses Lance

(Westfield, NJ) Today the New Jersey Building and Construction Trades Council (NJBCTC) unanimously endorsed Leonard Lance for his reelection. Although the NJBCTC historically supports Democratic candidates, they recognize Leonard Lance as a bipartisan champion for the building trades.

“Congressman Leonard Lance has stood behind the New Jersey Building Trades, his vote, at times, tipping the scale in our favor.” Said NJBCTC President Bill Mullen. “Congressman Lance has never wavered on a building trade issue and we will never waver on him.”

The Building Trades highlight Congressman Lance’s work defending the Davis-Bacon Act, his support for Project Labor Agreements and his advocacy for workers rights as the reason for their strong endorsement.

“I am truly honored to have the support of the hardworking men and women of New Jersey’s building trades and I look forward to continue working with them to advocate for infrastructure, local jobs and fair wages in New Jersey,” Said Lance. “People in Washington could certainly learn a lesson about hard work from New Jersey’s building trades workers.”

The New Jersey State Building and Construction Trades Council coordinates activity and provides resources to fifteen affiliated trades unions in the construction industry. It represents thirteen Local Building Trades Councils, including the Boilermakers, Bricklayers, Carpenters, Electricians, Elevator Constructors, Painters, Insulators, Iron Workers, Laborers, Operating Engineers, Operative Plasterers and Cement Masons, Pipe Trades, Roofers, Sheet Metal Workers and Teamsters.
