New Jersey Citizen Action Blasts Pence Fundraiser for Tom MacArthur

New Jersey Citizen Action released the following statement today on the high dollar fundraiser Vice President Mike Pence is holding at an undisclosed location in New York City on behalf of Republican Congressman Tom MacArthur  (NJ-3^rd) . President Donald Trump and White House adviser Kellyanne Conway have both headlined New Jersey fundraisers for MacArthur in the past.

“This Mike Pence fundraiser again demonstrates that Tom MacArthur is a Trump lackey who protects the interests of millionaires first and is not interested in bi-partisanship,” said Ann Vardeman, Program Director for New Jersey Citizen Action. “While New Jersey working and middle class families struggle with health care and housing costs, wealthy donors are paying $5,000 and $25,000 for tickets to this MacArthur fundraiser. Which explains why, like other Trump allies, MacArthur has voted consistently against New Jersey’s interests on health care and taxes. He’s looking after the interests of the wealthy and corporate donors funding his campaign, not the interests of New Jersey. A vote for Tom MacArthur is a vote for Trump.”
