New Jersey CPAs to Provide Free Tax Answers

on Live TV and Tax Call-in Programs

NJTV, News 12 New Jersey and the Asbury Park Press Participate

     

ROSELAND, N.J. — To help New Jersey taxpayers navigate the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017, the corresponding state and local tax (SALT) deduction cap and other pressing questions amid tax season, the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants (NJCPA) in conjunction with NJTV, News 12 New Jersey and the Asbury Park Press are conducting tax Q&A sessions with the public.

 

On Wednesday, Feb. 27, at noon, NJCPA members Kenneth Bagner, CPA, of SobelCo in Livingston and Karen Artasanchez, CPA, of WilkinGuttenplan in East Brunwick, will answer tax questions on NJTV’s live broadcast on its Facebook and YouTube pages. Questions can be submitted during the broadcast or in advance at njcpa.org/taxquestions.

 

In addition, NJCPA members will be manning the phones during the Society’s annual tax call-in program with the Asbury Park Press on Sunday, March 3. Last year’s program helped to answer more than 150 tax-related calls on anything from withholding questions and non-resident forms to family-owned businesses. Those interested in asking a question can call toll-free at 800-883-7737 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The following CPAs will be answering the phones:

  • Robert Fodera, CPA, of Baker Tilly in Iselin

  • Maria Patriarca, CPA, of PKF O’Connor Davies in Cranford
  • Pat Pepe, CPA — Pat Pepe, CPA, in Lakewood
  • Joseph Petrucelli, CPA, of PP&D Accounting Services in Woodbridge
  • Barry Shapiro, CPA, of WithumSmith+Brown in Red Bank
  • James Toto, CPA, of Mazars USA LLP in Edison

 

NJCPA members will also be on hand Wednesday, March 6, to field tax questions at News 12 New Jersey during their live news broadcast from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. News 12 will announce the call-in number at the start of the program. The following CPAs will be answering calls:
