Governor Phil Murphy reinforced his confidence in Democratic State Committee Chairman John Currie, as Currie faces a challenge from Leroy Jones over who will lead the party in NJ.

 

New Jersey Democratic State Committee Chairman John Currie Statement on Gov. Murphy’s Budget Address

TRENTON, N.J. — On Tuesday, Governor Phil Murphy announced his Fiscal Year 2020 budget proposal, which includes investments to public schools, providing a path to a better NJ Transit for commuters and responsible investments to strengthen the middle class. New Jersey Democratic State Committee Chairman John Currie is releasing the following statement:

“Governor Murphy’s budget provides critical investments, cost savings, and tax fairness that demonstrate his commitment to middle-class families, while also restoring fiscal responsibility,” said NJDSC Chairman John Currie. “Governor Murphy is working cooperatively with union leaders and businesses to correct the fiscal sins of the past administration and investing in our future — from saving hundreds of millions of dollars in public employee health care to putting additional funds in surplus to improving our transit system and investing in education and property tax relief. Under the Governor’s leadership, our state is on a path to stronger, fairer economy for everyone.”
