NEW JERSEY DIGITAL MULTIMEDIA INDEX INFORMATION IN SPANISH
PRINCETON, NEW JERSEY – July 18, 2019. New Jersey’s Latino population is ranked 8th in the United States (World Atlas,) emerging as a growing ethnic collective force. Despite the numbers, statewide public affairs in Spanish relevant to Latinos continue to be provided by New York and Philadelphia media or by independent Latino publishing companies limited by reach.
The “Hablamos Español – New Jersey INDEX” (We Speak Spanish – New Jersey Index) is the first of its kind containing state, county, and municipal government information relevant to Spanish speaking residents estimated to be 1.3 million. The index outlines elected official responsibilities from the governor to the board of education. It provides a short bio of the governor, the first lady, Latino elected officials and city mayors such as Paterson and Trenton where a large Latino population resides. It provides a list of all the Latino elected officials in the state and a statewide Latino leaders list with information of Latin American embassies and consulates. Each New Jersey county is also provided with data related to the culture.
The 178 page publication is in The Latino Spirit website. It is divided into sections with enabled links, video and a search module. To navigate the publication, clickable GO TO icons are provided. It’s distribution is comprised of several agreements with participating Spanish language serving nonprofits, the Latin american consulates, listed prominent leaders and businesses sharing to their own social media networks. The “Hablamos Español – New Jersey INDEX” is also circulated through The Latino Spirit’s email and cell phone database with an altogether overall potential reach of 115,000 recipients.
