TRENTON — Robert W. Fox, President of the New Jersey State Fraternal Order of Police (“FOP”), and Senate President Steve Sweeney released the following joint statement today regarding the FOP’s endorsement of the Senate President for re-election to the New Jersey Senate:

“On behalf of the FOP, we are proud to endorse Steve Sweeney, an iron worker and labor brother, in his re-election to the New Jersey Senate,” Fox said.

“Steve has been a consistent supporter of pro-labor issues in the Legislature. Time after time, he has fought to ensure that New Jersey families have a livable wage and have access to New Jersey’s paid family medical leave program. With more than 328,000 members, the New Jersey FOP is honored to stand with Senate President Sweeney in his re-election campaign.

“I am extremely grateful for the endorsement of the New Jersey FOP. These men and women put their lives on the line each day to protect the residents of New Jersey and I am proud to work with them to keep New Jersey safe.
