New Jersey LCV Statement on Murphy’s DEP Commissioner Selection

Trenton – New Jersey League of Conservation Voters (New Jersey LCV) released the following statement on the selection of Catherine McCabe to lead the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection:

“Catherine McCabe’s track record for holding polluters accountable will be a great benefit to our future generations and reestablish New Jersey as a leader in safeguarding our precious natural resources. I am confident she will deliver on Governor-elect Murphy’s commitment to 100% Clean Energy by 2050, protecting our clean drinking water sources in the Highlands and Pinelands, and preserving the Garden State,” said Ed Potosnak, Executive Director of New Jersey LCV.

New Jersey LCV is the political voice for the environment in the state, and was the first environmental group to endorse Phil Murphy in his run for governor. During the endorsement announcement, Governor-Elect Murphy publically committed to putting New Jersey on a path to 100% clean energy by 2050, which became one of his cornerstone issues in the campaign.

Potosnak will be available after the public announcement in Long Branch today for any questions, and via phone throughout the day at(732) 991-7574.
