On Sunday, June 17, at 9 am, immigrants’ rights groups and advocates from New Jersey and New York will gather at the Elizabeth Contract Detention Facility in Elizabeth, NJ to speak out against the Trump Administration’s enforcement of the ‘family separation’ immigration policy separating immigrant children from their parents. The policy separates immigrant families entering the United States, with children sometimes sent hundreds of miles away while their parents are kept in detention centers like the one in Elizabeth, NJ. Advocates from New Jersey and New York will meet outside the Elizabeth detention facility this Father’s Day to highlight the cruelty of a policy pulling young children away from their parents.
