NEW JERSEY — The Sussex County Republican Committee is under fire after repeatedly sharing racist, sexist, prejudiced, homophobic and xenaphopic memes on their official social media accounts. The SCRC Twitter account shared tweets and memes attacking four Congresswomen of color including one image referring to them as “The Four Horseman of Hate.”

New Jersey Democratic State Committee Chairman John Currie issued a statement condemning the social media posts:

“I am appalled and disgusted by the hateful images being shared by the Sussex County Republicans on social media,” said Chairman Currie. “There is no place for that kind of hate and bigotry in our politics or anywhere else for that matter. It is incumbent upon all of us regardless of political affiliation to make clear that this kind of language is unacceptable and that there are consequences for this behavior. I implore Chairman Scanlan and the Sussex County Republican Party to immediately take down the hateful images and issue an apology.”
