Norcross to Host College Financial Aid Workshop
WASHINGTON, DC – Tomorrow, Thursday, January 25, Congressman Donald Norcross (NJ-01) will host a college financial aid workshop with experts from the U.S. Department of Education and the New Jersey Higher Education Student Assistance Authority, as well as representatives from all five colleges in the First Congressional District.
“College costs have ballooned over the past 20 years – at a rate that’s outpaced inflation – and affordability is an issue on everyone’s mind,” said Congressman Norcross, a member of the House Education and the Workforce Committee. “You simply shouldn’t graduate college a quarter million dollars in debt. That’s why my office is providing South Jerseyans with the tools they need to navigate the college financial aid process.”
He added: “I get it; I’ve experienced the sticker shock firsthand as a parent. It’s tough for many working families and the financial aid process can be confusing. I want to make sure everyone has educational opportunities and access to reliable information from college administrators and experts.”
Reporters interested in attending are asked to please RSVP to Ally.Kehoe@mail.house.gov
