Norcross Statement on NO Vote to 4th GOP Continuing Resolution

WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Donald Norcross (NJ-01) issued the below statement on his vote against the fourth Continuing Resolution just four months into the fiscal year:

“We need to stop the irresponsible crisis-to-crisis governing and start working on real, long-term funding compromises.

“Before the end of December, I voted to give Republicans another chance to work with Democrats on a bipartisan solution. Before that, I voted for other band-aids to give Congress time to resolve partisan differences. But enough is enough.

“Let me be clear: My no vote does not mean I don’t support our military; I always vote for the safety and security of our men and women who serve. I believe we must pass a clean DREAM Act and we must have permanent reauthorizations for the Children’s Health Insurance Program and for Community Health Clinics.

“I say to my Republican colleagues: I look forward to working with you and acting like adults to avoid government shutdowns and provide vital government programs with the funding they need.”

Norcross previously voted for three Continuing Resolutions to give Speaker Ryan and Republcians more time to work on a long-term budget.
