Governor Phil Murphy and EnergieBW Announce Expansion to New Jersey
This morning, the Governor visited the Hamburg branch of EnBW Energie-Baden-Württemberg AG during his tour of Germany this week. EnBW is one of the leading developers and operators of offshore wind farms in Europe, and will be opening its office in Jersey City with its national subsidiary EnBW North America Inc. at the end of the year. Following the meeting with EnBW, the Governor travelled to SENVION, a German turbine producer, where he participated in a roundtable discussion on Offshore Wind opportunities in New Jersey.
During the roundtable discussion Governor Murphy explained how he wants to mirror Germany’s efforts to build an economy on sustainable and green forms of energy. The Governor also outlined New Jersey’s status as a prime location for wind energy and the administration’s commitment to establishing offshore wind energy, highlighting the creation of the New Jersey Wind Institute and how it will bring workforce development as well as R&D under one roof.
